The world is screaming come, do, consume. Another tasks to complete. Yes another place to go. I hear the screams loudly.
But I am weary from it all.
Deep within I hear another voice that is yelling above the world’s call.
With each passing day it gets a little louder.
I hear the one that loves me calling me to come away with Him.
To simply drop all my doings and simply take the time to be with Him.
The call to stop all my striving and simply rest in Him.
Gets louder and louder each day.
Can you hear Him calling above the noise of Twitter, FB, and all the online meanderings?
Beyond our daily to-dos a voice calls to each of us but can we hear Him in our frantic pace?
Come to me, all of you who are weary and carry heavy burdens, and I will give you rest. Matthew 11:28

Yes! God doesn’t scream over it all, but His invitation is unmistakeable. And the rest is divine!!!

Amen…nothing like resting in Him
Alida says
Love this, Wanda! He is calling but so often we are not listening because of all the daily noise. What a great reminder to step away from it all and listen to Him.
Wanda says
So true Alida and sometimes we hear the call but determine we do not have the time to answer because of all the other stuff on our plates.

As I read this I can almost hear our Lord singing “do nothing till you hear from Me”. The sad part is that most of us won’t sit still or stop long enough to listen (the hear and understand) what it is He wants us to do. I am challenging myself this weekend to do nothing but listen. I’ll let you know how it goes.
Wanda says
Our world focus a lot on doing and we miss out on the value of being still.
