Take a break from all the doing and find a few precious moments to be God’s child.
It’s the child who has unwavering trust in the Father. The child simple believes what the father says.
It is the child who can take delight in the wonder of the world around it.
It is the child who plays with reckless abandon simply enjoying the moment without fear of what is next.
I was reminded today to lay aside all that I need to be doing, should be doing, and just simply be. Be fully in His presence. Be found delighting in Him.
Yeah….lay aside all the other labels. No worry about Wanda the Sunday School teacher. Wanda the employee. Wanda the sister. Wanda the aunt. Not even Wanda, my parents daughter. Focus only on Wanda…God’s Child.
My mind wants have me frantic like Martha with all the preparation but my heart says be a Mary…choose the better thing.
41The Lord answered, “Wanda, Wanda! You are worried and upset about so many things, 42but only one thing is necessary. Mary has chosen what is best, and it will not be taken away from her.” Luke 10:41-42(CEV)
Perhaps you can’t take all day to just revel in the joy of just being God’s child but surely you can find a moment. It is in the being His child, being with Him that makes the all doing get done with greater ease.
Wow…thank you Wanda for the reminder to lay aside every other label and focus on the most important one…child of God. I too have a Martha’s mind, but desire a Mary’s heart.

Labels are often necessary but they can be so limiting.
Our pastor is always reminding us to take those moments.

It’s good to be reminded of this frequently. I often loose site of it in all of my to do(s)
I take too few of these moments and I don’t know why. I ALWAYS learn so much about God and about myself when I do. Thanks, Wanda!
Because those moments are so valuable is the very reason why the enemy tries to keep us too distracted to take them.
I take too few of these moments, thank you for reminding to stop and slow down and just remember to be God’s child, to marvel at being in His presence.

I find myself drawn away by the incessant need to keep up with blogging as well Alisa.
This is so true. Our Creator is the reason we are here, we can at least set aside time for Him everyday. Wise words!
So true but we often squeeze Him out of day because of the other things piled on our to-do lists.
I am not sure how to say this, except to say that I had to fight for my “just being” weekend, but I did it, and I learned a few things. I had to say no to some people, but I did. I had to put off some things, but I did.
