The Dream Lives On

By Wanda

As you know today, we honor Martin Luther King’s birth. He was a great visionary, who had the fortitude to not only proclaim his dream but to stand up for his dream in the face of great opposition. He didn’t allow his current reality to block his view of a better tomorrow. The voice of the naysayers did not silence him from voicing what he hoped for future generations. Neither bombs nor prison bars could hold his dream hostage.

While our dream may not be of the same magnitude as Dr. King, God has given each of us a dream—a picture of what our future can be. And in order to bring that dream into fruition, it will require that same tenacity and fortitude. Everyone will not agree with our dreams and others will outright oppose it but we must be willing to press forward any way.

Dr. King was a focused, determined man, confident of his calling and assured of his dream. Regretfully many of us don’t even have a dream, let alone sacrificing our all to bring it to pass. But God has plans for us. It’s time we got in tune with them. Such a well worded post, Wanda. Thank you!

Wanda, thank you for sharing this thought provoking blog about Dr. Martin Luther King. I think you capture the character and attitude of a man who was able to make a difference, even in a world that was resistant to the changes that would one day come.

Thanks for sharing this lovely tribute to a man with a moral vision and dream that we can be better; we must be better; and we should stand up to his challenge of freedom, love for all, and brotherhood. We can make a difference! 🙂

    Blessings and hugs Wanda!

Hi Wanda. I am praying that every dream will be birthed, and every seed planted will break through and grow and produce fruit, and that all that is produced will remain and be a source of blessing.

Thanks for your wonderful comments on my blog. For some reason I have not been able to comment, but I just want to let you know that your encouragement is appreciated.
